Engagement shoot Sussex - mature couple

Engagement shoot – what to expect?

An engagement shoot or pre-wedding shoot is a great way to settle nerves and get to know one another (me and you, I’m assuming the two of you are pretty familiar with each other by this point…)

LOADS of couples I meet feel really anxious and uncomfortable about having their photo taken – meeting before your wedding is so helpful in combatting this before the ‘Big Day’

Another benefit of doing this is that when we chat, I get a feel for what you want from your wedding photography. Some couples love super intimate black and white photography, some are about the views, some just want to ensure their lust for life is captured and accurately portrayed on the big day. All this is so much better discovered between the three of us without the hairspray, buttonholes and overexcited flower girls that a wedding day brings.

Make the big day more natural

I observe how you are naturally around each other, you love birds you, this helps me plan poses that are just an extension of your natural interaction, meaning that on your wedding day, you won’t feel forced or uncomfortable about the few structured poses I encourage.

What happens – we meet in a mutually agreed location, I bring my cameras, we have a good old chat about your plans and then we take a few photos, simple eh?! Usually, we finish with a cuppa or a vino (I mean, it’s past 12 somewhere, right?!) and I go away and plan your wedding photography, full of ideas and inspiration.

A couple of weeks later, you will receive your photos on a USB, you can use them as save the date cards, to update your walls or just to glam up your social media profiles.
